NBA mercato 2023

Quest'anno poi.

The Hawks have indicated to rival teams that they could soon be serious about moving Paul Millsap, but haven’t been aggressive in soliciting offers yet, league sources told The Vertical.

The Clippers have areas of weakness, like backup forward, that they should address. They expressed interest in Gay prior to last year’s deadline (and had talks over the summer, too, according to a source), but they likely lack the tradable assets to find a deal. Their 2021 pick is the earliest first-rounder they can deal, and their most appealing young talents are rookie centers Brice Johnson, who hasn’t played this season due to injury, and Diamond Stone, an interior-focused relic of the past.

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Miami Heat are open for business with any player on the team’s roster being up for grabs. “Up and down the roster, literally every player,” said Lowe towards the end of his latest podcast. “Literally no one is untouchable, not even Hassan Whiteside, by a long shot.”
– via Heat Nation

The Hawks took a “long, hard look” at trading Millsap but ultimately decided he is too valuable to the franchise and they want to keep him, according to one person familiar with change of decision. The new mandate may have come from Hawks ownership.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe reported that the Heat has made every player available in trade talks, and not even Hassan Whiteside is untouchable. The Heat strongly disputed Lowe’s report that Miami had talked to Sacramento about a Goran Dragic trade.

Miami deve rifondare, mi sembra giusto che siano aperti a trade per chiunque anche perché di buono hanno giusto Whiteside e pochissimo altro.

Flipping Dragic for future assets was their most obvious path to the bottom, but Miami’s injury situation has gotten so ugly, they don’t even have to do that! They’re 11-29, ahead of only the Nets. Teams will express interest in Dragic ahead of the trade deadline — a bunch, including the Magic, already did, per league sources — but Miami can hold out for a hefty return. They gave up a ton for Dragic, and they’d need to save face in any teardown trade.

Sources say, furthermore, that swingman KJ McDaniels has emerged as the most likely Rocket to move this trade season … more likely now than Corey Brewer. Our own Zach Lowe reported recently that the Rockets were gauging Brewer’s trade value, but Brewer has since moved back ahead of McDaniels in Mike D’Antoni’s rotation.

Stan Van Gundy has openly scoffed at the suggestion that Detroit is looking to trade away Reggie Jackson amid ‎the disappointing Pistons’ 18-23 struggles. Yet there’s a growing impression around the league that, at the very least, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has moved past Jackson onto Detroit’s short list of untouchables alongside Andre Drummond.

Kristian Winfield: David Aldridge just flushed the notion that the Clippers would be interested in a Carmelo Anthony-Blake Griffin swap.

No beh Orlando ha già Payton di PG senza tiro.

Phila la PG se la prende al draft, ci sono solo i Kings al momento sul giocatore.

The Clippers, believed to be Anthony’s first choice because of the presence of Chris Paul and a second home Anthony owns in L.A., have long said privately they would never deal Blake Griffin for Anthony and don’t have interesting draft picks to offer the Knicks. The rebuilding Lakers have some pieces Jackson likes, including Jordan Clarkson, whom he passed over in the draft.

According to a source, it’s doubtful Boston would give up any of its Nets’ first-rounders, but they can add their own less-desirable 2018 first-round pick, Crowder and expiring deals of Amir Johnson ($12 million) and Jonas Jerebko ($5 million). Knicks owner James Dolan probably would have to add a $3 million sweetener. “Boston would take a flier, but they aren’t going to give up what the Knicks want,’’ one NBA GM said. “The reality is no one will. A large percentage of teams won’t take him.’’

.@stevekylerNBA heard any buzz about what type of deal nuggets want for Nurkic? Love for blazers to be in the running for him. Steve Kyler: I really have not heard much on Denver. They are believed to be sellers, but have no idea what they want.

The Atlanta Hawks are trading guard Mo Williams to the Denver Nuggets, clearing the way to sign Gary Neal to a 10-day contract, league sources told The Vertical. Atlanta will send Williams and cash to the Nuggets, who’ll waive Williams, league sources said. The deal will be finalized on Wednesday, sources said.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Sources: Denver will waive Williams, whose $2.2M gets Nuggets closer to salary cap floor. Denver sends Atlanta the rights to Cenk Akyol.

That would leave only Sacramento, Philadelphia, New York, and perhaps Orlando as big-money suitors in dire need of a point guard. The Sixers will take a hard look at Holiday, sources say; he fits what they need around Ben Simmons, and the hilariousness of Philly bringing Holiday back after flipping him to start The Process is irresistible. Orlando has expressed interest in Dragic, sources have said, but Elfrid Payton has surged over the last month.

But they haven’t committed to staying small, and sticking Davis at center. They worry about the physical toll it would take, and fretted after Davis picked up two quick fouls jostling with Dwight Howard two weeks ago. In the days that followed, Atlanta and New Orleans had exploratory talks about possible Howard trades before the Hawks pulled everyone off the market, according to several league sources. It is unclear how interested New Orleans was, and there was not unanimous support within the team for acquiring Howard.

Orlando, according to league sources, recently tried to engage Miami on a Goran Dragic deal in which the Magic were said to be offering center Nikola Vucevic and a future first-round pick.
– via ESPN

The Heat, of course, already have a well-compensated starting center in Hassan Whiteside and, sources say, had no interest in Orlando’s pitch.
– via ESPN

Sources say that the Nuggets, having acknowledged that Nikola Jokic and Nurkic didn’t click as a pairing, are actively working to find Nurkic a new home that would give him the chance he deserves to be a front-line center.

The Clippers have offered a future second-round pick for Suns forward P.J. Tucker — who is said to have a not-so-secret admirer in Doc Rivers — but sources say Phoenix is holding out for a first-rounder in exchange for the rugged defensive specialist.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons have discussed a potential swap of point guards Ricky Rubio and Reggie Jackson, according to league sources.
– via ESPN

Sources told ESPN that no deal appeared imminent Friday but said the teams have engaged in dialogue this week on a potential multiplayer exchange that would be headlined by Rubio and Jackson.
– via ESPN

The Wolves have been openly trying to move Rubio for some time and reportedly are willing to attach swingman Shabazz Muhammad to offers featuring the veteran Spanish point guard‎.

The Wolves, sources say, are actively shopping Rubio and have tried to engage numerous teams about a potential deal involving him. Sources say Minnesota is attaching swingman Shabazz Muhammad to offers in hopes of enticing a team to take on Rubio, who has two seasons and just over $29 million left on his current contract.

The perception around the league is Jackson’s trade value is down with Jackson only being able to fetch the likes of Rubio or Sacramento Kings point guard Darren Collison – if the Pistons are insisting on getting back a starting-caliber point guard.
– via Detroit Free Press

There is a sense around the league that Jackson is available. A league source told the Free Press this week the Pistons had gauged the trade value of Jackson with other teams, but a team source even denied that. “We aren’t shopping anyone,” the source said.

Van Gundy said he normally doesn’t address trade rumors with players, but when Jackson’s agent called general manager Jeff Bower, he felt the need to text Jackson on Friday night. “I just said, ‘Look, this is the crazy season. We’re not trading you for Ricky Rubio,’ and that was it,” Van Gundy said. “I normally don’t address it, but the fact that it was out there and it concerned his agent enough to call, I addressed it, but these discussions happen all the time …”

Watson told azcentral sports that Chandler’s future isn’t up to him, but he made it clear he wants the big man to stay in Phoenix. The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 23. “I have very little input, but if it was up to me, I love Tyson Chandler,’’ Watson said. “I think our front office loves Tyson Chandler. Tyson wants to be a part of this process. He doesn’t mind the work and building. Where most veteran players want to win now, they don’t want to put in the work (with a young team). Tyson’s all about putting in the work every day. He practices every day. He’s vocal every day. He’s present every day. He’s positive or challenging. He has the same voice every day, and that is invaluable. That’s not analytical.”

P.J. Tucker knows his name is out there. He knows the NBA trade deadline is about a month away. The Suns forward — in the final year of his contract — tries to block it out. “It’s part of business,” Tucker said Thursday. “Contract year. Being a defensive player, a lot of teams are looking to make an addition to (help) fight for a championship. But for me, it’s just focusing on being with my team and trying to win games. It happens every contract year. A lot of talk. A lot of it’s just rumors and people talking, but you never know in business. You just try to stay ready and block it out.”
