NBA mercato 2023

Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony apparently do have something in common: LeBron James as an ally. According to a league source, LeBron is the one pushing the Cleveland Cavaliers front office to acquire Carmelo even if it means trading Kevin Love, which is something Cavs management is opposed to doing. Jackson is hoping to move Anthony prior to the Feb. 23 trading deadline and one player the Knicks have targeted is Love, who had 23 points with 16 rebounds in Cleveland’s win over the Knicks last Saturday.
– via New York Daily News

Any deal for Anthony would require the Knicks’ leading scorer to waive his no-trade clause and the consensus is that Anthony would agree to play for the defending champs and his long-time friend LeBron.
– via New York Daily News

The Cavs could look to recruit a third team but Cleveland is in no hurry to part with Love, an All-Star this season who is also younger than Anthony and serves a specific role on the team. And while Cleveland doesn’t want to alienate the NBA’s best player, the Cavs do have James under contract through the 2017-18 season.

Jake Fischer: League source said Pelicans, while weighing numerous options, had internally mulled offering a trade package for Reggie Jackson.

Jeff Zillgitt: One nugget I can add to Jahlil Okafor story: Multiple teams interested in him. 76ers not rushing into deal unless they get what they want.

The Kings have been active in the trade market looking for other deals, and there is a growing sense that the Kings could move guard Darren Collison and possibly big man Kosta Koufos before the deadline.

There was talk recently about Ibaka heading to the Raptors, but the more that situation has been talked about it seems less likely that Toronto will give up meaningful assets for the Magic’s would-be free agent. Sources close to the situation labeled the Raptors as a favorable situation for Ibaka long-term, but it’s unclear if he’d give assurances of re-signing there. Ibaka does share the same agent as Raptors star Kyle Lowry, so that is an easy answer to obtain.

Shams Charania: Lance Stephenson is signing a 10-day contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves, league sources tell The Vertical.

Many executives also believe that Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé wouldn’t sign off on a Cousins trade since he thinks very highly of the center and believes he can keep the big man in Sacramento for years to come. Because of his antics and public criticism of Sacramento’s front office, Cousins is often brought up in trade rumors, but everyone involved says he will be in a Kings jersey on Feb. 24.

According to Sixers general manager Bryan Colangelo, the team is receiving increased interested in both of the big men in recent weeks. “We’ve got three talented bigs,” Colangelo said Thursday on 97.5 The Fanatic. “They all feel that they deserve to be looked at as a potential starter and be paid as a starter. The phones have been ringing. There has been a lot of conversations. There’s been some activity. Quite a bit actually in recent weeks. It’s not something that’s just come up in recent weeks because it’s something we’ve been looking to address since I got here.

Rival executives believe Denver’s front office wants to be active at the deadline and they certainly have the pieces to make a move, so they’re a team to keep an eye on.

Trading off veterans like Nick Young, Lou Williams, Luol Deng or Jose Calderon would give the young core more playing time, allow the Lakers to acquire more picks and young prospects, and increase the likelihood that they’ll keep two very important first-rounders going forward. Despite head coach Luke Walton’s negative comments about tanking, executives believe the Lakers will strongly consider this route. If they do, other teams will certainly be calling about L.A.’s veterans.

Noi non so veramente cosa potremmo farci con Okafor.

Nurkic a Portland pare.

League sources say Danilo Gallinari is a prime Nugget to watch between now and the deadline. The Raptors and Clippers are among the teams said to be monitoring Gallinari’s availability, amid a growing belief that Denver is prepared to move him, given that the Nuggets anticipate that Gallinari will bypass the final season of his current contract (valued at $16.1 million) and join Millsap on the open market and don’t plan to spend big to retain the Italian.

Skepticism about Atlanta’s recent insistence that Paul Millsap is completely off the market has been fairly rampant. The Hawks, however, are adamant Millsap is staying put in the wake of the Kyle Korver-to-Cleveland deal in early January … whether rival teams believe them or not. – via ESPN

Sources say that Toronto and Miami are among the Eastern Conference teams that have expressed interest in Ibaka this month. More than one rival club has expressed the belief that Orlando will use the next 10 days before the deadline to keep fielding offers and then, ultimately, choose the best available package for Ibaka on Feb. 23 and make the move. – via ESPN

Sources say Portland is determined to move injured center Festus Ezeli before the deadline and is pitching him in particular to teams well below the salary floor that would be willing to take on Ezeli’s contract with some level of draft compensation attached. – via ESPN
